Polished 40 drawer filing cabinet

My most favourite ebay feature is, without a doubt, the fact that you can 'save searches'. This means that you can specify exactly what you are looking for, and where you are looking for it. Ebay will then email you whenever such an item becomes available. It's a bit hit and miss, but after a few tries you can stream line your searches to a tee.

For instance, I've been looking for a ceramic pineapple for a long time; more specifically a white one. (Don't ask me why - I don't know either.) So now ebay emails me with the odd white ceramic pineapple dish (I'm still holding out for the perfect one). I had to amend it to search just the 'Pottery & Glass' section, as ebay kept sending me emails about Pineapple Dance clothing.

Another one of of my searches is 'Retro Filing'. This flags up lots of great stuff, from desk tidys to antique filing cabinets. This one came up today, and I'm in love with it.

It's available here with a starting bid o £499. The auction ends 9th November. I would love to see what this cabinet could look like in a styled room. Because of the price tag (who knows what it might sell for!) this item could go right into my 'When I win the Lottery' category despite being a vintage, (not antique!) item.

In my mind it's a brilliant marriage of a venetian glass cabinet (too girly for me) and a retro filing cabinet. I suppose it would have originally had the dull steel surface, and was stripped to this mirror like finish. The auction states that it dates approximately from the 1930's.
